How To Visit Our 9 Ministries

By Bo Sanchez

Don’t just send money. Come and be part of the work of the Lord. Visit us.
Here’s how:
1. Anawim, home for the abandoned elderly. Located in Montalban, Rizal, just 30 minutes away from Commonwealth Avenue in QC. You can visit anytime, any day. But if you plan to sponsor a lunch or dinner for the elderly and staff, we need to know your preferred date in advance so we could block that day for your group.

2. Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, an orphanage for kids aged 4 - 15. Located in Oranbo, Pasig, just 3 blocks away from ULTRA. The kids go to school in the morning, so you can visit at 4 - 6 PM on weekdays, or anytime on Saturdays. The kids go to church and children's ministry on Sundays, so you can visit after lunch on Sundays. If you plan to treat the kids to lunch, we need to know your planned date in advance, to avoid conflict with other groups.

3. Grace To Be Born, a ministry for saving the unborn from abortion, an orphanage for abandoned babies, and shelter for unwed pregnant mothers. Located in Pasig poblacion, just a block away from the Pasig cathedral. You can visit anytime, any day, Monday to Sunday. However, we limit visitors to the nursery only as we keep the identities of the mothers confidential.
Our staff can receive you in the conference room and show you the nursery.

4. He Cares ministry for streetchildren, located in Proj. 6, Quezon City. The ministry serves streetkids, provides micro-lending program for housewives' livelihood, feeding program twice a week for the kids, and shelter for boys and girls. You may visit anytime, any day but inform us in advance as the kids go to school on weekdays. Saturdays and Sundays are okay.

5. Counseling Center - located in the Lighthouse, 60 Chicago St., Cubao, QC., provides counseling 24 hours a day, thru telephone, internet, and face-to-face counseling. For more information, call us up at (02) 7259999.

6. Shepherd's Voice - serves the Lord by proclaiming the Word of God through creative use of print, TV, radio, and the internet. We publish 7 magazines and books. We produce radio programs for Radio Veritas and TV shows that are broadcasted on TV5 and various cable channels. The office is located also in the Lighthouse building, 60 Chicago St., Cubao, QC.
7. Prison Ministry - serves the inmates in Correctional Institute for Women in Mandaluyong with prayer meetings, recollections. Big Plan: We’re setting up a volunteer Legal team who will help inmates who should have been freed years ago—but because no one is guiding them through our legal maze—they remain in prison.

8. Pag-asa ng Pamilya scholarship program - provides moral and financial support to poor schoolchildren, mostly in college and high school levels all over the country. Among our present scholars are seminarians, novice sisters, deaf students, children of farmers, fishermen, laborers, etc.

9. Light of Jesus Family. We want to build 1000 Feasts all over the world. The Feasts are the weekly prayer gatherings of the Light of Jesus family. Our goal? To reach out to the unchurched.

You are welcome to visit us anytime.

May your dreams come true,

Heroes Helping Other Heroes

By Bo Sanchez

We never planned for this.
We thought this was not our charism, not our “expertise” (Haha, as if we had any before we began these ministries!).
We thought that some other charitable institutions, not us, ought to handle concerns like this.
But God had other plans.
We just said yes to Him.
And God surprised us.
As of today, two of our ministries for the poor are caring for seven – yes, seven! - victims of rape and child sexual abuse.
Grace To Be Born is providing sanctuary to 3 rape victims who are pregnant. And Tahanan ng Pagmamahal (Home of Love) is caring for 2 other rape victims and 2 victims of child sexual abuse whose experience did not result in unwanted pregnancy.
Grace To Be Born is our home for pregnant mothers in crisis and orphanage for abandoned babies, while Tahanan ng Pagmamahal is our orphanage for children aged 4 to 13. These are 2 of 9 ministries supported by KergymaFamily.
The pregnant rape victims thought of abortion. (Who wouldn’t?)
In their confused and desperate situation, they thought that they should not carry “tangible proof” of the misfortune they suffered. Even their own parents didn’t want to have anything to do with their unwanted babies.
Some of their friends and classmates encouraged these mothers to solve their problems by having their pregnancies aborted, erroneously reasoning out that the one month old or two month old fetus is “not yet a human being.”
But we know that abortion doesn’t solve anything.
Rape is terrible, one of the most horrible crimes on this earth.
But abortion solves nothing. It creates another horrible problem for the mother. We believe it will never bring the healing she desires.
Because our faith says that the fetus, even just a day old, is a fully alive human being created in the image of God, complete with soul and spirit.
These mothers chose instead to come to us and seek refuge in our shelters. They took the heroic path. I admire them so much! To carry a child in your womb who is a fruit of a horrible violation.
In our Grace shelter and Tahanan orphanage, we welcomed them and supported them in the difficult path they chose.
Friend, what you’re doing is heroic, too!
Thank you for supporting our heroic ministry.
May your dreams come true,

Bo Sanchez
